Splatoon manga returns from hiatus thanks to Splatoon 3

It is far from over...

Splatoon 3 has taken players by storm, they are loving it and the hours of gameplay just grow and grow, mainly in Japan where we know its popularity is such that the quantity of related media is astonishing. Speaking of so, the spin-off manga series based on the game franchise just teased its comeback.

Yes, you read that one right, after the December 2021 issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine announced that the manga Splatoon Bankara temporarily ended, the publisher just informed that they will resume publication soon thanks to the recent release of Splatoon 3.

What is coming?

As expected the manga features content related to Splatoon 3, with its newest chapter being released in the latest monthly issue that being the October issue of CoroCoro Comics, the Japanese magazine that distributes the manga in Japan. Also, the magazine published a prologue chapter in the September issue on August 12 so be sure to check it out too.

Of course, English readers also get to read the manga thanks to Viz Media, which is responsible for the translation and publication of Splatoon Bankara in this part of the world. As always you can read chapter by chapter or wait until they’ll be compiled into volumes.

If you didn’t know the latest compiled volume was number 15th which will be published on October 11 (which you can find here) and the next one will be number 16th volume which arrives in Japan on January 27. For now, not many details have been shared so we are not sure if the manga’s plot will be based on the single-player story mode or will be a separate story.

So far, Splatoon 3 just launched a couple of weeks ago and now has broken sales records in Japan selling 3.45 million units in just three days.

The important question here is... Are you already playing?
