Cyberpunk 2077 breaks surprising Steam record!

Is this a surprise or simple streaming platform magic?

Recently, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners the anime spin-off from Cyberpunk 2077 arrived on Netflix and has enjoyed overwhelming popularity along with critical acclaim, if you haven’t watched it yet, please do, we can promise, that you will not be disappointed.

Now, seems like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was one of the reasons why Cyberpunk 2077 has broken a new record as the CD Projekt Red game is the most played single-player title on Steam right now.

Great news!

As we were saying, the anime boost was one of the reasons, the other ones are the release of Patch 1.6, as well as the 50% discount on Steam this week.

We are happy for the team at CD Projekt Red, who has sorted out most of the game's shortcomings; considering that the game has gone through really difficult times since its launch. As of today, the game is in a very good position as we are waiting for the launch of the game’s first and only expansion pack called Phantom Liberty which will be the final chapter of the Cyberpunk 2077 story.

On the other hand, many players have been wondering if this sudden popularity rise will convince the developer team to create more content for Cyberpunk 2077 or at least consider a sequel in the future. We know that CD Projekt Red is aware of this and rumours about it have been circulating for a while, claiming that the project could be worked on Unreal Engine 5 like the next The Witcher game. Only time will say if they were right.

Remember, Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
