Did you miss it? Don’t worry, here is everything you need to know

Today’s State of Play showed us tons and tons of trailers of games that even though we have heard about them, continue to thrill us as never before, so in case you didn’t have the time to watch it, don’t worry here is the summary of everything on September’s State of Play stream.

Finally, our first glimpse at TEKKEN 8

For starters, TEKKEN 8 opened the show with an announcement trailer that showed footage rendered in real-time and captured from the game running on PS5. The game finally has been confirmed in production.

In this trailer, we had the chance to see the quality and detail in this brand new instalment of the franchise that completely sets itself apart from the current Tekken 7. Sadly, there are few details about it and we don’t have a release window yet.

Without further due, here is the trailer:

More VR2 games are in the works

As expected the PS VR2 is not absent from this State of Play and as we have heard before there are a big number of VR games on their way, this time two VR versions of fan favourite games are in the works, them being  Demeo and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge.

Both have many details yet to know, as Sony has not revealed either the price or its exact release date. If you want to see in detail how they look here are their official announcement trailers:

From Japan to the west!

Like a Dragon: Ishin! The yakuza spin-off that never saw the light in the western market is arriving as a full remake in February 2023. Built from the ground on Unreal Engine 4 the action-packed samurai title is set in the 1860s in a fictionalized version of Kyoto. While other games tell earlier stories in Japanese history, Ishin lets you experience the story of how the iconic samurai era vanished.

A new and exclusive look to Hogwarts Legacy

Good news for all Potter-heads with a PlayStation, Hogwarts Legacy will have exclusive content for PlayStation consoles. A mission called The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop will put players into the dangers of the iconic Hogsmeade shop. In addition to the quest, it will feature some other exclusives such as an extra dungeon to explore, the Shopkeeper's cosmetic set, as well as an in-game Hogsmeade store where you probably could buy some goodies for your character.

Remember, Hogwarts Legacy is set to arrive on consoles and PC on February 10, 2023.

Many games are coming next year

We have said it before, everybody is expecting 2023 to be the year where finally the last-gen consoles can enjoy not only a wider market presence but a wide game library. In the State of Play stream, we stumble upon four games that will interest players on a great scale.

To begin with, Pacific Drive is a run-based first-person driving survival game, where your car is your lifeline. Scavenge resources to maintain and improve your car, but remember, as long as you keep it running, it will protect you from the surrounding dangers.

On the other hand, the action-RPG Project Eve changes its name to Stellar Blade and in its brand new trailer unveiled new characters and their roles in this story. In this story Eve and her comrades land on the surface to reclaim the extinct Earth in order to save it, all the actions and the consequences depends purely on your decision as the player.

Last but not least, Rise of the Ronin is our PlayStation 5 console exclusive announced during the stream. This game developed by Team Ninja, is an action RPG which takes you on an epic and unfettered journey as a Ronin at the dawn of a new era in Japan. It took seven years to develop this project and now we are possibly getting it for 2024.

Closing on a high note

In order to give a great end to a very short stream, a new God of War: Ragnarök story trailer was shown along with a limited edition DualSense wireless controller, inspired by the Norse world of Midgard, it features two unique shades of cool blue on icy white, decorated with the bear and wolf insignia, honouring Kratos and Atreus.

Here are the videos for both announcements:
