Unfortunately, year after year, as a society, we have witnessed high rates of suicide and mental health disorders, causing a public health crisis. Unfortunately, access to tools for mental health is not equally accessible to everyone, so Xbox and The Coalition have decided to support this topic.
Through a statement on Xbox Wire, Mike Crump director of The Coalition, commented that they will contribute by donating 1% of the net income of all Gears of War games and products to organizations that work to prevent suicide and combat loneliness through mental health supports.
"Gears of War has always been a byword for belonging, so on the eve of World Suicide Prevention Day, our message and promise is simple: never fight alone."
In addition, they also reported their partnership with Crisis Text Line, which provides free, high-quality crisis intervention and mental health support via text 24/7. This is in the US, UK, Canada, and Ireland.
It is worth mentioning that in the United States, support is available in English and Spanish. This is thanks to a community of volunteers trained to help people when needed.
How to contact Crisis Text Line? You should text “PAUSE” to 741741 or send a WhatsApp message to (433)- SUPPORT to contact available volunteer crisis counselors. This is to help the person in crisis or friends through any mental health crisis.
