Although many do not imagine it, the Pokémon and Magic cards market can mean thousands of dollars. Since there are trading cards that can be worth a lot of money for the same thing, there are also illegal activities.
We will now report on a case of theft of over $20,000 worth of high-value trading cards. A subject in the United States entered a store to steal that amount in cards, and although he was a fugitive from justice for weeks, they recently found his whereabouts so they could arrest him.
HOW DID THEY FIND THE THIEF?
As reported by the Bellingham Herald (via GameRant), Myles Vaughn Pajnogac, 37, entered a store in Bellingham, Washington, to steal Pokémon cards and Magic: The Gathering on August 9, the same day the Authorities went to the store to report what happened.
The thief came up with the idea of going back to the store on September 3; for what? Some would ask. He went back to sell the merchandise stolen a month earlier.
(Probably, it wasn't his wisest move, but it helped him to get caught.) The store clerk recognized the items and confronted the subject, then Myles forgot the articles while he was escaping.
After a call to the police, they luckily found the whereabouts of the thief and arrested him. This was 8 hours after Myles went to the store.
According to reports, the police found more Pokémon cards and toxic substances such as fentanyl and methamphetamine, although it is unclear if that was found in Myles' home or if he was bringing it with him.
Clearly, Myles Vaughn Pajnogac was arrested for first-degree theft, second-degree possession of the stolen property, and first-degree trafficking. On September 4, he was released on his recognizance, which means that he promised to appear in court when necessary.
