When it comes to video games, one of the things that make us spend money on many occasions is the skins, whether created by the game developers themselves or by external collaborations with artists, series, anime, etc.
And, of course, we are all excited to see our favorite characters in a game or our main in one with a different and striking style. Unfortunately, not everything is always as nice as it sounds; there are really… very ugly skins.
For the same reason, here at LEVEL UP, we have taken on the task of making a compilation with several ugly skins that we have seen in video games.
TOP OF THE UGLIEST VIDEO GAME SKINS
1. Lightning Tracer - Overwatch
Tracer is a character from the video game Overwatch, even the character on the cover. This skin was announced for the event commemorating the two years of the video game.
2. Fabio Sparklemane - Fortnite
This was the official mascot of Unicorn Flakes; it’s part of the Unicorn Flakes!!! Set, and it was introduced in Chapter 2, Season 8. And, let’s be honest, we know Fortnite likes to explore so many ideas for skins in their game, but… come on.
3. Flytrap - Fortnite
The Flytrap Skin is a legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Flytrap set. It was added to the game in Chapter 1, Season 4. And all we have to say is… why?
4. Alien Zarya - Overwatch
Overwatch released this skin in honor of MVP Jay “Sinatraa.” The inspiration for the skin comes from Sinatraa’s fans, who spam alien emotes for him in chats. But the skin was removed because Won was accused of sexual abuse by an ex-girlfriend, and Blizzard Entertainment removed the skin, offering a refund to players that purchased it in the game.
5. Industrial Zarya - Overwatch
Oh wow, speaking about Zarya, this skin is pretty bad, isn't it?
6. Queen of Hearts Wraith - Apex Legends
This skin was released on January 14, 2021. The date, everyone in the Apex community was impressed by how the developers thought this was an excellent skin to release. So far, this is undoubtedly one of the ugliest skins in video games.
7. Shingeki no Kyojin - Call of Duty
This undoubtedly took many fans by surprise, since an anime franchise would perhaps be better to collaborate with a game like Fortnite, but... Call of Duty? At the time the inspired look of the anime character, Levi, was revealed, it was undoubtedly a great object of ridicule for the community because this collaboration is simply fatal.
8. Bulma - Fortnite
The collaboration of Fortnite with Dragon Ball has recently come out, and although the gameplay has been quite fun to play, many fans were not satisfied with the character designs in the title. Bulma was one of the most criticized; of course, she is a cute character, but the problem comes from the proportion of her body since her head looks enormous compared to the rest of her body, so she looks disproportionate.
9. Vegeta - Fortnite
Speaking of this collaboration between Dragon Ball and Fortnite, another of the most criticized characters was Vegeta; his head is so big that it is close to being a bobblehead.
10. Shingeki no Kyojin - Dead by Daylight
Why again with the same anime? Yes, there was a collaboration between Shingeki no Kyojin and Dead by Daylight. However, unlike other anime and video game collaborations, you didn't see the main characters here, just their survey cops uniforms. So it was just an anime-inspired look, but the combination was so weird and unattractive that it was also a subject of ridicule, especially comparing Eren's outfit to Shrek's.
11. Cutiepie - Fortnite
Part of the Nightmare Yule set and introduced in Chapter 2, Season 1. Cutiepie is one of the ugliest and most creepy skins in the game.
