We will have to be quite a while yet to find out the ending of Beastars, the anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki's manga of the same name.
According to a new leak, the third and final season will not arrive until 2024, with Netflix streaming the final episodes of the series as it did with the first two seasons.
Beastars premiered in Japan on October 8, 2019, captivating anime fans and casual viewers. Later on January 5, 2021, the second season will arrive, and in July of the same year, Studio Orange & Netflix Japan confirmed a new arc project for the anime on their Twitter accounts. This was revealed later to be the final season of the anime.
From September 2016 to October 2020, Paru Itagaki's original manga was published in Japan in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine. Viz Media announced the manga's licensing during their panel at Anime NYC 2018. On July 16, 2019, the first volume was released.
What is Beastars about?
The story is set in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals in which herbivores and carnivores coexist (at times forced), with characters who are very close to us and in whom we can recognize some typical characteristics of human society, declined through an animal and much more instinctive point of view.
The protagonist of the show is Legoshi, a lonely gray wolf student at Cherryton Institute. Despite his good nature and rare kindness, Legoshi is feared and shunned by many schoolmates because of prejudices about his species.
When Legoshi's classmate alpaca Tem is brutally murdered and devoured, the suspicions of many students inevitably fall on the protagonist. It is the beginning of a truly difficult and complicated period for the gentle wolf who, after meeting the helpless but uninhibited bunny Haru, begins to experience animalistic urges that he has always repressed.
