Incredible video game collection sells for a million

The seller did not put an unreasonable price on his nearly 50-year-old collection

If you are a gamer, you know that many things sold in the video game industry are collectibles, or how many belongings can increase in value over the years.

On many occasions, we will be able to hear about stories of gamers who sell items at high prices in stores like eBay, but today we will talk about a pretty impressive case.

A French collector named Kaori Trente, with a collection of almost 2400 consoles, after 25 years of research is willing to sell his entire collection, representing more than 50 years of accumulation.

ONE OF THE LARGEST COLLECTIONS OF CONSOLES IS FOR SALE

According to the seller (Kariaure on eBay), it is the "largest console collection in existence," as it includes all console models, colors, versions (including American, European, and Japanese), limited editions, commercials, etc.

The seller mentions that he started collecting in the early 1990s; however, he sold what he had gained at the end of that decade to open his company. Then, in the 2000s, the player returned to collecting and reports that he made many purchases in this decade. Over the next few years, he left and returned to the hobby, but in 2018 he came back with everything and got models that had been lost.

And indeed, you will wonder how much such a valuable collection is selling for. Well, it is clear that it is not cheap at all, and when you read the price, you will surely be impressed, but when you see all the kind of effort, limited editions, and everything that the collection contains, it will no longer sound so far-fetched.

The price of the collection is €989,000, approximately $984351.
