Rumor: IO Interactive's Project 007 will not be released until March 2025

The James Bond game was announced in 2020

IO Interactive, the creators of the Hitman series, revealed in 2020 that they are working on a new James Bond 007 agent title. The game will not be released until the fiscal year 2024, which ends in March 2025, according to a new financial report from the developer, as IO Interactive will not release any titles in the next two fiscal years.

The report indicates that no games will be released before March 2025, and among IO Interactive's known projects, the new James Bond 007 title is one of them, guaranteeing at least five years of development.

Nothing has been said about the title since the teaser was released in 2020. Project 007, as it has been baptized, even has a website that describes the game as follows:

''Project 007 (working title) is a brand new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IO Interactive. Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story."

''IO Interactive is currently recruiting elite talent from around the world to join the team that will build out this exciting and unique gaming title.''

Since its release in January 2021, IO Interactive's focus has been on Hitman 3. Since then, the game has received new content, which has contributed to the developer's recent profits.

Ray tracing and support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS have already been added to the game's second-year updates. The title recently lost its director, Mattias Engstrom, who is now overseeing production on Crysis 4.
