New exciting details from the upcoming Fatal Fury title have surfaced

Among the highlights, we learned about the single-player mode

After the announcement of the first Fatal Fury game in 23 years at the EVO 2022, fans were left with tons of questions and wondering when this game would be released. Unfortunately, at the time, the developers in charge of the project didn’t share more information, so everyone was left with hectic expectations.

Finally, last week at Gamescom, Twinfinite saw an opportunity to find out more about the game and interviewed chief producer Yasuyuki Oda and associate producer Joshua Weatherford.

This is what they know so far…

Luckily, development has already started.

During the interview, the new Fatal Fury was described as a “very big release” for SNK, so announcements and teasers would take “a little while” before they are officially shared. However, the developers assured Twinfinite that they want to ensure the title is in perfect condition before sharing some news about it.

The Fatal Fury team also revealed that while there will still be a focus on online play and VS fighting, the new title will also have more of a focus on the single-player mode compared to SNK’s recent releases.

Oda-san confessed to being well aware of the considerable time gap between the latest Fatal Fury and the upcoming one. He mentioned that even though this creates a challenge because many of today’s players aren’t aware of what happened in the previous games, the team is currently taking this into consideration. They have a few plans to overcome it. He also added that Terry Bogard would definitely appear in the game.

Currently, the new Fatal Fury doesn’t have a release date or confirmed platforms. So we’ll have to wait and see what SNK announces in the following months.
