Some days ago, The Pokémon Company added an interesting new feature to its free-to-play mobile game Pokémon Masters EX and let's say that many players have been enjoying it… maybe too much. For the first time ever it is possible to interact with your favourite trainers by having conversations and even giving them gifts with the newest Trainer Lodge.
How does this work exactly?
The Trainer Lodge is a brand new mode consisting of a personal room in which the player can invite up to 5 selectable characters. This feature debuted with Trainers Cynthia, Sycamore, N, Blue, Silver, May, Rosa, Lillie and Marnie, however, it is expected to add more characters in the future,
The player will be able to choose one with whom he can spend up to 3 interactions per day in one of the many locations of Pasio, the island where the game takes place… technically a date.
Once started, the player will be able to chat with his guest on various topics, but only one will give you points which will help to raise the level of affinity. As more topics are used in the conversation, the Trainer's interest will drop and they will decide to end the date, so it will be key to keep the interest high, You can also give them gifts which multiply the affinity points earned.
Make sure to know their personality in extreme detail
Also, by matching their favourite interest topic several times, the Trainer will be able to reach the “Max Vibes" state, which will stop their interest to drop for a few moments even though you choose the wrong topic. Over time, you will be able to unlock new locations to invite the Trainer to, as well as other valuable rewards to improve the characters. The longer the conversation lasts, the more points are earned.
You can earn other rewards like a portrait with your preferred character or obtaining a new buddy pair, consisting of the Trainer with a new Pokémon.
Now, there is bad news, in order for you to “date” one of these Trainers you must first have their partners. Unfortunately, characters like Cynthia and N can only be obtained through banners (gachapon) and not all of them are available. For example, even if you have another version of the Trainers like Cynthia's Master Sync Pair with Giratina, it will not unlock the original version that is available in the Trainer Lodge.
We need to make clear that these interactions are very simple, not to say vague so don’t expect to have deep conversations with the characters. But hey, either way have fun in your Poké-dates!
