Maybe not enough consoles available for the holidays

Recently, Xbox boss Phil Spencer had an interview with Bloomberg talking about everything Xbox related and one of these topics was the supply chain issues that have been affecting the industry for a long while now.

Spencer noted that he is concerned as the company may not be able to meet the demand for Xbox Series X|S this holiday season, in his own words: "I still think demand will outstrip supply this holiday season.”

Light at the end of the tunnel

The console shortage problem continues to be one of the headaches Microsoft faces with console production, Spencer fears that the situation will not improve by the end of the year however he is expecting to see improvements in 2023. Xbox CFO Tim Stuart recently also suggested the same.

Further on, Spencer noted that it's just a matter of time for gamers around the world before gamers can walk into their favourite store and find an abundance of Xbox X Series and Xbox S Series consoles. Actually, even though the problem hasn’t improved, Microsoft’s console sales haven’t been suffering, compared to the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X has managed to outsell its major competitor on multiple occasions.

Surprisingly, even in Japan consumers seems to prefer the American console, mind you, they may still be flying off the shelves considering the PlayStation 5 price went up in a lot of regions while Microsoft assured that their consoles will keep their current price tags for the time being.
