Sony has announced that all online multiplayer games for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will be free next weekend. The promotion is valid from August 27 to August 28.
Most online games require a PlayStation Plus subscription to play, but that won't be the case this weekend. Sony is known to organize free multiplayer weekends now and then, and the only thing players need to participate in this promotion is a PlayStation Network account.

Aside from free, always-on games like Fortnite and Rocket League, gamers will be able to play a variety of multiplayer titles on PlayStation, including Grand Theft Auto Online, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and even the recently released Saints Row, as long as the game is in their library.
The PS Plus Essential monthly games for August are Little Nightmares (PS4), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS5, PS4), and Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5, PS4)
EA's Madden NFL 23 is one of the most popular games released recently, and Sony console players can participate in online multiplayer action for free.
One of the advantages of PlayStation Plus is access to online multiplayer. Others include monthly access to a growing library of free games, cloud storage, and discounts. The new PlayStation Plus tier-based subscription program debuted in June, with Essential, Extra, and Premium plans available.
