Remember Jetpack Joyride? It was installed in almost every iPod and iPhone back in 2011 and after a little more than a decade the extremely successful game by Halfbrick Studios is making a comeback with a new twist as Jetpack Joyride 2 is finally available exclusively on Apple Arcade.
If you haven’t played the original game for a while, you should know that it keeps receiving updates so, the team behind the sequel choose to turn the game into a full campaign featuring levels a bosses.
Wait… but I have seen it before?
Yes, you are right, Halfbrick Studios launched this title last year for iOS and Android devices in select territories specifically Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and it was expected to debut later in more regions, however, at the beginning of 2022 it was removed from the platforms because "it had entered a new closed development phase for an indefinite period of time”.
Until now we did not know what had happened to the project, but we already know that the development time would have been used to fine-tune the final details of the exclusive release on Apple Arcade.
We will miss endless mode
If you prefer endless mode but don’t want to install de original one, don’t worry, according to Gamespot, Jetpack Joyride 2 lead game designer Francisco Gonzalez and lead artist Toni Martin shared earlier this month that endless mode is on the way.
“Endless mode is something we know for sure some of the fans will ask for and it is something we are preparing. Of course, our intention is to maintain the game over the next months. We will issue updates and this will be one of the updates we add soon.”
Remember, Apple Arcade is a subscription service with a growing collection of mobile games, so, paying $4.99 a month will get you unlimited access to their catalog without ads or in-app purchases.
