We're already more than halfway through 2022, which means it's not that long before the holiday season begins at the end of the year, which is why Nintendo is gearing up for sales of its Nintendo Switch console.
We are close to the most potent commercial season of the year, and according to a report from Nikkei (via VGC), Nintendo will make a change; in this case, it is about modifying the packaging of the consoles. Starting this month, the original Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch Oled boxes will be 20% smaller.
Why is that necessary? This is a strategy from Nintendo, as reducing the packaging size of each model would allow more units to be transported in each shipment. This way, the company can ensure store availability during the party season.
One does not usually think about the work behind it in distribution and marketing because it is curious how reducing the packaging size will make a big difference.
In case you don’t know, this also has to be with the fact that Nintendo had a slight drop in the number of units sold for the console because of scarcity what seems to be that the best strategy so far is that, for the same reason they are preparing.
