The game's postponement to 2023 has disappointed all Harry Potter fans who were hoping to get their hands on the promising Hogwarts Legacy for the holiday season. It will have to wait longer, but this extra time will allow Avalanche to fine-tune further details.
Switch owners may be the most concerned because there is no release date for Nintendo's console, but there might be good news soon. Geoff Keighley announced that more information about the title is coming on the Opening Night Live 2022 event preceding Gamescom.

This event, scheduled for August 23, may provide another look at Hogwarts Legacy, though it is unclear whether this will be a lengthy gameplay sequence or a new trailer.
However, the first hypothesis is more likely, given the recent postponement and the need to get a picture of the state of play. Over the next few days, Keighley might confirm more games and companies that are going to present new products at this live conference.
A new trailer for Sonic Frontiers, High on Life, Return to Monkey Island, and a new game from the Subnautica creators have all been confirmed for the event.
“We’re delighted to produce another Gamescom: Opening Night Live, which will present more than 30 games from across the industry this year,” said Geoff about the show.
