Illustrations featuring soccer's biggest stars are coming to the game mode

Marvel Entertainment will create unique player cards for the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 23. These FIFA 22 cards highlight classic players and iconic moments that helped them become soccer heroes.

They'll be back in FIFA 23, but this time with illustrated versions, which will come out alongside the World Cup mode on November 11.

Players will find the basic versions of FUT Heroes - featuring memorable moments from their club careers - when FIFA 23 launches on September 30, but each FUT Hero will receive their unique version when they upgrade to the mode, focusing on key moments from their international careers. These World Cup cards will have more stats than the originals.

The collaboration with Marvel will extend into other items such as apparel, footballs, and an online Marvel Heroes comic book starring the players. “This collaboration between two of the world’s largest entertainment brands will bring some of the game’s fan favorites to the game and celebrate their larger-than-life cult hero status alongside the amazing artists at Marvel,” an EA statement reads.

Landon Donovan, Yaya Touré, Park Ji-Sung, Ricardo Carvalho, and Claudio Marchisio are among the confirmed FUT Heroes, as are their illustrations.
