It's been a while since the last South Park video game; and to be honest after The Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole we were eager for a new one. Well if you were waiting patiently for the return of this franchise, you will be happy to know that a new title is on the way.
Surprisingly is not from Ubisoft like the latest one, this time THQ Nordic is in charge. Teased at the end of the THQ Nordic Digital showcase the project was revealed after the presenters had already said goodbye and the final sequence was over.
Hot hot hot hot!!!
In a matter of seconds, the South Park Studios logo appeared with the voice of Randy Marsh screaming in the background: “Hot, hot, hot, hot!! Is coming!!!.” Then a slide with the legend: “THQ Nordic (HandyGames not included) has 43 games in development thereof 26 still announced AFTER this showcase. Thanks for watching.”
Immediately the number was crossed out for 25, suggesting that this announcement was on the list.
If you're a die-hard South Park fan or put real good attention to announcements maybe this news probably won't come as a surprise. After all, there were already signs that a new South Park video game was on the way.
It was in August 2021 when it was confirmed that South Park Studios was working on a new South Park video game, which will be the responsibility of an in-house studio. So, it's only a matter of time before we have more details about the return of Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny to the world of video games. We will stay tuned and will let you know when we know more about this project.
