According to Bloomberg, Unity, the video-game software company signed what could be their biggest deal yet, as they have won a contract to become the "preferred real-time 3D platform" for simulation programs for the US military.

The deal is worth millions of dollars and joins Unity with enterprise technology firm CACI to unite forces. CACI for those who don’t know is a $6 billion company that works with the U.S. government on various defense initiatives.

They have been pursuing this for a while

Actually, this news came after last year a group of Unity developers mentioned in an interview with Vice that some workers have been developing technology that is used for military purposes without knowing.

They asked the company to be more transparent about its practices as it wasn’t a secret that the engine maker had been chasing government and military contracts as part of a "GovTech" initiative.

The details of this contract were also detailed in its latest financial report, describing the deal as an "exciting" prospect. “Unity was awarded an exciting three-year multi-million dollar contract to Advance the Development of Smart Human Machine Interfaces by CACI International.”

On the other hand, the report also reads: "This win is the single largest Digital Twin Solutions deal for Unity to date and is a strategic deal that helps to solidify Unity as the preferred real-time 3D platform for future systems design and simulation programs across the U.S. Government.”

A great chance for the company, nonetheless the lack of transparency with their employees may bring serious problems in the future.
