Sony has added a new section to the PlayStation website dedicated to PC-based PlayStation games. While this comes as no surprise, given the upcoming release of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered this week and more to come later this year, some of the wording on the website leads gamers to believe that PSN account integration is on the way.
The new PlayStation PC games section of the website lists all available games, including God of War, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawn, as well as previously announced titles coming later this year.
The site features a FAQ section, and one of the questions answered is whether players need a PSN account to play PlayStation games on PC.
"No, you currently do not need a PSN account to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC," Sony responded, causing users to be confused about this.
The wording appears to imply that the need for a PSN account to play PlayStation games on PC may change later. Some players hope this will allow gamers to earn trophies for playing PC games like Spider-Man and communicate with their PSN friends while playing.
Other features that users want are cross-play and cross-save, though the former will only be reasonable if Sony brings multiplayer titles to PC. Others wonder if this means Sony is developing its exclusive PC game launcher, which seems unlikely. All that remains is to wait and see what Sony does next.
