Sonic is doing exceptionally good in the movie theaters, so extra good that the franchise attracts millions with every movie released, and the third one was inevitable keeping in mind that its predecessor, Sonic 2 The Movie was a success, generating $400 millions, a figure that left behind the amount grossed by the first film.
If you were impatient to know when the hedgehog will make its return to cinemas, let us tell you that there is already a confirmed release date.

They don’t seem to stop soon
A few moments ago, the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account surprised everyone by making it official, Sonic 3 The Movie will be released in theaters on December 20, 2024.
Now that Sonic 3 The Movie is confirmed and already has a release date, the expectation is that it will surpass the achievements of its predecessor, Sonic 2 The Movie which besides being a box office success, became the fifth most successful adaptation of a video game into a movie, making history and proving that good films inspired by video games can be made.
We still have a long way until this film sees the light, however, it is good to know that SEGA's blue hedgehog is enjoying a great moment at least in the movie department.
