Developer Spike Chunsoft and publisher Chime Corporation have released new information and screenshots for Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, which feature characters who appear in the game's original story.
Throughout the story mode (Deep in Abyss), we'll see many familiar faces, including Riko, Nat, and Shiggy, whom the Cave Raider will join throughout the adventure. As you progress deeper into the levels, you will be able to visit structures inhabited by a White Whistle, who will also be involved in some missions.
The notebook, held by the main character, records a mixture of information, including people met, relics obtained in the abyss, and ancient creatures encountered.
By using a monocular, players can record ancient creatures in their notebooks. Use caution when using the monoculars because the field of view is limited, and you must get close to observe them.
As you progress deeper into the abyss, you will be able to visit facilities where a White Whistle (the highest rank) resides, such as the Seeker Camp in the second layer and the frontline base in the fifth layer. Quests involving the current White Whistles, Ozen, and Bondrewd are available.
These Made in Abyss characters appear in the main story and sometimes will appear as having a connection to the protagonist in side quests.
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will come out for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 1 in Japan and September 2 in North America and Europe.
