Xbox Game Pass Ultimate begins testing its family plan

Invite up to four friends to play, but shorten the original time limit

As reported by Windows Central a few months ago, Microsoft is planning a family plan for Xbox Game Pass that will allow users to share the subscription service's benefits. The company has made this official.

Users in Colombia and Ireland can begin testing this new option today through the Xbox Game Pass - Insider Preview application after they complete some steps and meet certain conditions.

Users should know that participating in this trial will convert our plan from the commercial to the trial version. According to Xbox's official information, the example they give is that if you have a one-month subscription, it will change to 18 days, and if you want to return to the commercial plan, the trial period must complete.

After joining the test, users should be able to invite up to four other players to share the plan. The invitees must not have an active Xbox Game Pass plan, so they must let it expire or cancel it, as conversion to the trial service cannot be done by invitation.

It is not necessary for those we wish to invite to join the Insider Preview since living in the same country is enough. Also, members of the Xbox All Access program are not allowed to try this preview.

When the process is complete, the five users will be able to enjoy everything that an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription has to offer, including the service's game catalog, online play, free monthly titles, and the ability to stream games from the cloud.

For now, Xbox has not revealed whether this test is in plans to reach other countries, so if you want to try this feature out, you need to wait for further information.

Would you like to participate in this trial yourself? Let us know in the comments!
