It was in July 2020 that TYPE-MOON studio BB announced Fate/EXTRA Record, a remake of Fate/EXTRA (PSP). Since then, there has been radio silence, but at the Wadarco Exhibition in Tokyo, the company revealed a new game trailer.
In it, we can see Nero dishing it out alongside other Servants. Not to mention her Noble Phantasms, the ultimate techniques with which to unleash his full power.
Fate/EXTRA Record will show Nero's master leading a team to explore dungeons. The game displays a complete rebuilt combat system, a card-building style system that requires more attention to each new round to choose the best course, very different from its 2010 PSP version's rock-paper-scissors type of gameplay.
The title has spectacular visuals, but unfortunately, we still don't know its release date or for which platforms it will be available. Being a Japanese title, we can expect its arrival on Sony consoles: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but we have to wait for TYPE-MOON to reveal more information and tell us if the game will even come to the West.
According to a tweet from Kazuya Shina, who was the planning and producer of Fate/EXTRA and is now directing the remake, there is a development window of about one year due to changes in the development environment and adjustment of partners.
If you want to know a little more about the story of this entry, you can go to Netflix and watch: Fate/EXTRA Last Encore, an anime that covers the game's events and that is based on the 2010 PSP's version.
