New animes have come out this year that have reached incredible popularity either because of their captivating stories, fantastic characters, or themes that you may feel familiar with, in this case, cosplay.
My Dress-Up Darling is an anime that captivated many audiences for its lovely protagonist Marin Kitagawa, a student who has a hobby of being a cosplayer, so she asks a classmate for help to make costumes for her favorite characters.
One of the characteristics of the anime for which it became so popular is the light fan service that handles almost everything related to the protagonist, so the manga sometimes offers uncensored scenes.
In this case, the publishing branch of Square Enix published the Manga Up! application worldwide, which allows you to read manga from various series on mobile phones. Everything sounds perfect until anime fans ran into censorship in the My Dress-Up Darling manga.
It appears that this and other works are heavily censored with black patches. In some cases, the modifications are too severe. To the degree of censoring exposed knees or crotches of fully clothed characters. Even the bust of women with blouses or other clothing.
This has caused chaos. Fans wonder why there is so much manga censorship on the app. Manga Up! had to make a statement indicating that the censorship application is to adjust to the guidelines of each country, which vary in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

USERS OF THE APPLICATION COMPLAIN AFTER THE COMMUNICATION
The announcement of Manga Up! did not get good results since the anime community is complaining about the excessive censorship they handle in the application.
Some users complain that it does not seem like they will do anything about it, mentioning other problems they face with the application and stating that the app is disappointing.
This is a very weak response and it seems you have no intentions to change the censorship. This also doesn’t address issues like charging microtransactions and splitting up chapters. Quite simply this app is a disappointment. You should look into Shonen Jump app for inspiration. pic.twitter.com/kKd2WpH9U4

Other users believe that the censorship is wildly exaggerated since they have put black patches in the intimate areas of the characters while they are fully clothed.
“Some modifications were unavoidable”

Censoring JEANS isn’t unavoidable. Give me a break. pic.twitter.com/dUMmvZq94t
press buttons to proceed every few page flips is infuriating. I get it. You really REALLY want me to know that I can only read a few chapters for free today. Don’t worry, I’m definitely not going to be hitting that limit.🤣

It looks like the app will have a lot of tweaking to keep its users happy.
