Disney Speedstorm is creating a fair Free-to-play experience

Or at least is trying to!

Even though Gameloft’s upcoming kart game, Disney Speedstorm is expected until the end of summer this year, the information about it is flowing like never before. So, many interesting aspects of the project have seen the light.

The developers recently had an interview on the YouTube channel GameXplain, where they shared a lot of information, among them the pay-to-win concerns that come with free-to-play games.

No need to pay to win

Apparently, Speedstorm aims to offer an experience where you don’t need to pay to enjoy all the content available, although with the advantage that it will be free-to-play.

However, the game will still give you the option of making microtransactions, the only difference is that if you don’t purchase anything, you will not have a disadvantage over those who do.

The developers make extra clear that they wanted to bring a fair free experience, so whether you buy in-game content or not, your victories will be a product of your skills and not your wallet.

In the words of Gameloft manager Aska Suzuki "Players will have access to all content at launch, but they can also buy in-game currency to progress a little faster. We're working hard to create a game experience that allows players who choose not to pay to have a fair experience: comparable to those who make purchases.”

He further stated that any player will be able to unlock items and objects organically:

"Players who play for free will unlock many of the items through normal organic play and in single-player and multiplayer modes. And the developers encourage players to view season passes as a fair and fun way to unlock content,”

We will leave you the complete interview below:

So far, the game will feature a large cast of characters from the Disney universe with characters from movies such as Hercules, Monsters Inc, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jungle Book, Mulan and more.

Remember, Disney Speedstorm will arrive in summer this year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
