Dark Souls 3 online servers might be returning soon!

After six months of being inactive

Just before the release of the hugely successful Elden Ring, the Dark Souls community on PC went through a rough patch. FromSoftware discovered a vulnerability breach in the game's servers that reportedly put the integrity of users' computers at risk.

At the end of May, the company stated that they were already working to fix the problem with the PC servers. At that time, the developer commented that they plan to return to online functions progressively, with Dark Souls 3 first on the list.

But there is good news, AshenOne! Lance McDonald, a 'Souls YouTuber,' spotted something interesting on July 22: the SteamDB page for Dark Souls 3 shows a new update for the game. The game hasn't received a new patch in years, implying an online fix could be coming soon.

While this doesn't confirm that online features will return any time soon, it appears that Bandai Namco is preparing to release new PC patches for FromSofware's acclaimed RPG title. If so, the date these will arrive remains a mystery.

If we are lucky, multiplayer servers for the third installment in the franchise will be live again soon, that is, in the next few weeks or months. As much as we want to celebrate, we will have to wait for an official statement from the developers.

Dark Souls 3 is set in the Kingdom of Lothric. The player needs to survive an oncoming apocalypse brought about by the ongoing conflict between the Age of Fire and those branded with the Darksign, as with previous iterations of the series. If you want to survive this event, you must face the Lords of Cinder, prior heroes who linked the fire, as the cycle of light and dark continues, and no matter what you do, darkness will return and repeat itself forever.

Will you be sitting in the bonfire with your friends again? Let us know in the comments!
