Cats own the internet; it’s a law of nature. We know it, live for it, and there’s nothing we can do against it. And if the ocean of memes and videos isn’t proof enough, let’s look at how Stray is doing during its first week of release. In case you missed it, Stray smashed Annapurna’s record for concurrent Steam players when it was released, hitting a peak of over 62,000 players. And that’s not it.
It turns out that a tweet found on Skill Up’s account shows that Stray has become the highest user-rated game on Steam this year so far.

These scores are determined by Steam250, based on how the players review a game (for the positive and negative sides). A combination of reviews turns into a score, and each year, this determines which title becomes the best rated by its users (depending on how many users play and rate the game).
So, according to Skill Up, Stray’s score is currently 8.61 – based on 42,665 votes, of which 98% are positive – making it top of the list of all games released in 2022. This pushes God of War to second place, with a score of 8.56 (based on 53,101 votes, of which 97% are positive).
STRAY’S CAT ADVENTURE HAS OVERTAKEN GOD OF WAR
We’re only halfway through the year, and this game has done much for the community. They give us a wholesome title, help real-life stray cats, and prove that indie games can go far against commercial releases. Stray could go even further and reach the top of Steam250’s all-time chart, although it currently sits at number 49.
Keep in mind that the title that owns the first place is Portal 2, which has a rating of 8.83 (based on 301,930 votes, of which 99% are positive), followed by Terraria, Stardew Valley, Hades, and People Playground. The following months will determine how far cats can go on Steam.
