Goku in MultiVersus? Game director "works hard" to include anime characters

Tony Huynh wants to incorporate icons from Japanese series into the Warner Bros. game

MultiVersus, the platform fighting game, has been making noise on social media because of its outstanding features, such as it will be free-to-play, its iconic characters from Warner Bros and DC Comics, and its entire concept itself. Although it is currently in its beta phase, it has become one of the most popular games.

The game has been receiving excellent feedback from all its fans. However, many have wondered if they will be adding characters from other franchises to the game at some point. And in case you didn't know, at the end of 2021, a developer claimed that for sure there was a possibility.

Does this mean anime icons could make it to the game? It was unclear before, but the possibility was reinforced by recent statements from a senior member of the studio.

ANIME CHARACTERS MAY COME TO MULTIVERSUS

A few days ago, a fan questioned the possibility of seeing a personality from Japan's animated series in the fighting video game on social media. To the surprise of many, Tony Huynh, director of the project, was forceful with his answer: yes.

The creative stated via Twitter that they are currently "working hard" to get anime characters to Multiversus. Unfortunately, he did not share more details about it, so we do not know which fighters they have in mind.

Here you can see it:

As expected, the community was quick to mobilize to share some suggestions. Goku, the protagonist of Dragon Ball Z, was one of the most requested characters by players. They are followed by Naruto from the homonymous series and Mikasa from Attack on Titan. Of course, the list goes on, and some want to see characters from RWBY, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, One Punch Man, etc.

We'll have to wait to find out if MultiVersus will host Japanese series personalities in the first place. However, it is a consolation for the fans to know that at least Tony Huynh and other members of Player First Games are working to make it a reality.

We remind you that the closed Beta of this popular project will start next week, while some select players have already had the opportunity to play thanks to an early access period.

But tell us, do you think it's a good idea to include anime icons in the multiplayer video game? Who would you like to see? Let us read you in the comments.

MultiVersus will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
