As we recently discovered a couple of months back, a new free-to-play mobile game inspired by the popular franchise of The Lord of the Rings was confirmed to arrive on Android and iOS.
The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is a Collectible RPG that brings the fantasy and adventure of the franchise to existing fans and new audiences alike in a strategic, social-competitive experience. A new ring has emerged, and now it’s time to prove if you would use its power for good or evil! In this upcoming title, players can experience a new original story while exploring new landscapes in Middle-earth, such as the Haradrim, additional Dúnedain, Rohan commoners, and more. But indeed, the most exciting part of this title is that you can command characters from all across the franchise and battle against each other, pretty much like a multiverse version of TLOR.
Even though it’s not a next-console title, many fans from TLOR have been looking forward to more news on the matter. Finally, today, a new teaser trailer has been released. And although it’s as brief as it gets, it displays a sample of what the game will be like.
Alongside this new teaser, it was also confirmed that a very exclusive regional launch would arrive for players in the Philippines; more countries will be announced soon. Also, the worldwide launch hasn’t been confirmed, though it is set to release e on the Apple App Store and Google Play soon.
This is a significant era for long-time fans. The Lord of The Rings franchise has several projects in the works. According to GameSpot, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series is set to premiere on Amazon on September 2, and a new animated film, The War of the Rohirrim, releases in 2024. Additionally, a different Lord of the Rings video game, Gollum, is set to release on September 1.
