Canceled Halo VR project revealed by insider

A series of conceptual images got leaked on Twitter

The last main installment of the saga starring the Master Chief, Halo Infinite, was about to receive a virtual reality mode as Rebs Gaming, a video game informer, shared through Twitter. As reported by the user, Reverie, the provisional name by which this modality was known, was among the plans of 343 Industries in 2017. Although it was finally canceled due to the challenges involved in developing virtual reality modes at that time and the number users who had access to this technology.

The long-awaited cooperative mode will arrive soon

According to several leaks from the same informant, the cooperative mode for the campaign would arrive this week; at the end of last month, several gameplays of a test of said mode were shared.

It's amazing to see what one of the most popular shooters in the industry would look like in VR, but it's also disheartening that this exciting possibility has been scrapped.

Given how many players still love VR games, there might be a chance that 343 Industries could revisit the project in the future as users continue to enjoy Halo Infinite, especially with Season 3 coming in November along with the Forge Mode.

Would you've played this title in VR? Let us know in the comments!
