Assassin’s Creed Rift might be set in Baghdad

According to a trustworthy journalist

It won't be until September that the company announces what's coming for Assassin's Creed. Although rumors have spoken of exploring Mexico during the Aztec Empire, that's a possibility that has already been denied.

Last month Ubisoft celebrated 15 years of the Assassin's Creed franchise with a special broadcast. Although they were expected to announce the next entry in the series, it was confirmed that this will not be known until another event in September.

A report that the new game will be set in Pre-Hispanic Mexico with the Aztecs began to gain strength throughout this Wednesday. This was shared by the insider Jeremy Penter on his Twitter account, becoming relevant thanks to the history of the insider who has advanced information that ended up being true on some occasions.

However, what Penter said was quickly denied by Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, one of the most renowned journalists in the industry, Through Reddit, Schreier ruled out the arrival of an Assassin's Creed from the Aztec Empire, noting that what is new for the saga will be the already rumored game codenamed Rift, and would show a story in Baghdad and other parts of the Middle East.

The reporter adds that, after Rift, the franchise will become a game as a service in what has been unofficially known as Infinity and, although it will address different experiences, the journalist is not sure that the Aztec era is one of them.
