Skate 4 details have AGAIN been leaked online

Information reveals details on map, controls, and more

As we know, Skate 4 is still in the early stages of development, but plenty of new gameplay details have been leaked thanks to a recent round of playtesting.

Full Circle and EA recently invited select players to see how it's shaping up as part of a recent round of playtesting. And of course, the information got leaked right away courtesy of Reddit's user MYNAMEISHENDRIK.

The source confirms a new map from the GAMES playtest Fun City, and even though it might be just a small section of the full map, it still reveals more than enough.

This new map seems to feature some new areas, as well as familiar ones from previous titles. The Community Center from the original Skate, and an example of the former being a spot called The Space Store, which apparently has a sculpture of Saturn were mentioned. Meanwhile, the map has various bus stops functioning as fast travel points.

Control presets were also a topic on the list, it seems like Skate 4 will have three presets: classic, streamlined, and experienced, but apparently, there are also PC-focused controls featured in the game. Players will decide if they want to push forward using the analog sticks, which is new for the series, though this will to be optional. It also seems like there will be two camera options, a high and a low, and we will be free to change between both.

Ragdoll physics is back! Fans loved Skate 3, and it is said to be exaggerated. Respawning will involve a full animation of your character getting back on their feet. When you are off the board, you can also roll and slide. According to this leak, no collisions were played on the same server.

The leaker also revealed that they think the game is set for release around October, as there were "a lot of stickers and decorations that were Helloween themed". Although this will probably be next year, as the game is still in pre-pre-pre alpha.

According to the playtesting leak, players will be free to create and expand their skate parks. Crafting materials and blueprints will also be pretty important in the game. But that's not all; there will also be a video editing feature, which includes buying and using different frames and stickers, and the videos taken in-game can be shared, and the most liked ones will be featured on billboards in the game. It also seems like EA is remaining true to its words since user-generated content will also be central to the experience.

Skate 4 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. If you missed it, check out the latest trailer from Skate
