These last years, the E3 has been evolving and adapting to survive. Nevertheless, its absence this year was mostly not felt because of other showcases that took its place. The Summer Game Fest, alongside individual showcases, successfully pulled off the season of announcements. This even allowed more companies to make their showcase online. And after the events were over, the E3 resurfaced again to confirm that next year, there will be a digital event, and it will come back to its original in-person format.

Today, it has been announced that the company behind events like PAX, EGX, Star Wars Celebration, and New York Comic Con will be running the E3 next year. ReedPop, also the owner of GamesIndustry.biz, has recently confirmed that they will be working alongside the Entertainment Software Association to host the E3 2023 at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the second week of June.

Media registration will open later in the year. Confirmed exhibitors and event schedules will also be shared in the following months.

ESA president and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis stated: "We are thrilled to bring back E3 as an in-person event with ReedPop, a global leader in producing pop culture events. The past three years have confirmed that E3 convenes our industry like no other event. In addition, ReedPop brings world-class talent and a keen understanding of the video game industry, which will enhance the E3 experience for years to come."

ReedPop president Lance Fensterman added: "It is a tremendous honor and privilege for ReedPop to take on the responsibility of bringing E3 back in 2023. With the support and endorsement of the ESA, we're going to build a world-class event to serve the global gaming industry in new and broader ways than we already do at ReedPop through our portfolio of world-leading events and websites."
