According to Ralph Valve, an insider best known for his accurate leaks about the title in the past, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 open beta release date has been set for mid-September.
Activision recently confirmed that all the game pre-orders come with early access to the game’s beta, which will be available on PlayStation consoles at least five days earlier than any other platform.
In a report for What If Gaming, Ralph states that PS4 and PS5 players who pre-order the game will receive early access to the beta from September 15 to September 16, then it will open up to all PlayStation users from September 17 to September 19.
After that, a cross-play test for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC will be available for pre-order customers from September 22 to September 23, before being available to all players from September 24 to September 26.
Despite it was thought that the beta could launch on August 15 thanks to Amazon's pre-sale information, latest claims suggest players won't get a chance to access the beta test until much closer to the game's release.
Activision has confirmed that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date will be October 28 2022 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S-X, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The first gameplay trailer was released on June 8th 2022, an almost eight-minute video showing off footage of a level called Dark Water.
