If you remember the time of the release of the Nintendo GameCube console, one of the best games it offered at the time was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, being a game from one of Nintendo's most beloved franchises.

At that moment, we could see a drastic change in the visual style of a Zelda game for the first time. This caused divided opinions among fans of the saga since many were not happy that it lost the graphics of something more realistic to a more cartoonish one.

The most surprising thing about this is that it seems that Shigeru Miyamoto did not initially like this change. In one of the most recent translations of old interviews, it was revealed that Miyamoto did not like the art style and even asked for it to be changed.

These translations were shared by DidYouKnowGaming, who posted that Miyamoto originally planned to improve the graphics of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the Nintendo GameCube game.

However, after a team member designed Toon Link's image, all his teammates were fascinated, and the idea was consolidated little by little.

According to the information shared, these revelations come from old issues of Nintendo Dream magazine, where The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker director Eiji Aonuma explained that he was sure that Miyamoto would not like the look of the game, so he waited as much as possible to show their progress.

“If I had gone and talked to him early on, I think he would have said, “How can that be Zelda?” Miyamoto had trouble abandoning Link's realistic style until the very end. At some point, I had to give a presentation against my will. That's when he said something to me like, You know, it's not too late to change course and make a realistic Zelda."

However, despite Miyamoto's doubts, everything followed its course, and that delivery is remembered in a good way today with everything and the controversy that its graphics generated at that time.
