Riot Games will record and listen to what you say while playing VALORANT

This as an effort to reduce toxic player behavior

Unfortunately, in the video game industry, there are still toxicity problems in the community, which ruins the experience of many players when trying to play with unknown people in online games.

Many companies have tried to combat this problem, and now Riot Games has surprised us with the news. Since the team in charge of VALORANT decided to record, everything players say in voice chat while playing the shooter.

The official statement of Riot Games confirmed that this new feature would begin on July 13 in the United States and Canada. According to the company, this is an effort "to combat disruptive behavior."

VALORANT updated its Privacy Statement and Terms of Service to indicate that the user must allow what players say while using in-game voice chat to be recorded and heard.

We must clarify that the files will be saved and reviewed only when a misbehavior report is submitted. It does not mean someone from Riot Games will be spying on you in every game. However, it is an excellent way for Riot Games to determine better if a foul was committed in voice chat or not.

Riot Games' goal is to be able to bring this feature to all of their games, and for that, they will be testing VALORANT first to make sure it works. It should also be noted that for now, it will only operate in English conversations; there is no news yet that this feature will be available in other regions.

What do you think about this? Do you think it will help reduce player misbehavior?
