Overwatch 2: Reveal Event took place today

Continuing with the events and news of June, in case you didn't know, today, June 16, the Overwatch 2 : Reveal Event took place. Event organized by Blizzard to present us with all the information we need to know about the sequel to Overwatch.

Starting the event, an exciting trailer for the new title was shown, accompanied by an epic melody in which you could see the new characters, abilities, and changes in this game.

Hosted by Soe Gschwind, she opens the event with a talk with the game director, Aaron Keller, and production director Paul Haile to give us an explanation about everything they plan to come out for this new title and to understand more about the decisions made.

The first topic that was discussed was the fact that the launch of the title will be on October 4 and with the news that it will be free-to-play, as was recently mentioned at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022 event.

As usual, here at LEVEL UP, we will bring you the most relevant gaming industry news. Here is the most relevant information about the Overwatch 2: Reveal Event.

COMPETITIVE EXPERIENCE

A reimagined competitive experience was created to give players more tools to improve gameplay and feel a sense of progression in competitive play. Players will have more of an impact on individual matches with the shift to 5v5, and additional systems will be in place to help you discern your contributions per match. More details on the competitive overhaul will be shared soon.

A FREE-TO-PLAY, LIVE EXPERIENCE

They believe that Overwatch stands for inclusivity, open-mindedness, and community. Since its debut, it has always been a social game. That's why free-to-play removes the entry barrier, allowing anyone to jump into the game.

They will also be adding cross-progression, enabling everyone to play, progress, and access their unlocked content seamlessly across all game platforms.

GOODBYE LOOT BOXES

There will be no Loot Boxes in Overwatch 2. Instead, the modernized live service will give players the power to shape their experiences. Players can acquire the items they want directly through the Battle Pass.
