Prepare yourself for a summer filled with zombies

Two years have passed since Netflix announced their Resident Evil TV series. It was a hard road though as they spend several months of development and an extensive search for a showrunner, which materialized into eight episodes that will arrive on the platform on July 14th.

Here is the trailer:

Evil has evolved

The Netflix series will tell its new story across two timelines. In the first, we will follow the Wesker kids as they uncover the dark secrets of their father as the ones inside of New Raccoon City. In case you forgot, Albert Wesker is one of the main antagonists in the Resident Evil games.

The second part, more than a decade into the future, shows us a world with less than 15 million people. And more than 6 billion monsters; both people and animals are infected with the T-virus. Jade Wesker, now a full adult woman, struggles to survive in this new world, while the secrets from her past continue to haunt her.

Netflix also dropped an official poster for the show, that will be shown below:

Are you excited for what is about to come? Remember this TV series is being developed by German production company Constantin Film, which is also behind the Resident Evil movies. So this is an expansion of the Resident Evil universe and another chance to deepen the exciting mythology.
