Addiction to Animal Crossing: New Horizons will not let us get there until 2061

Sad news for all of us who planned to play the title for more than 38 years

Let's recognize that there is a massive community of Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans. Many of those people become addicted to playing the title for its large number of objects, exploration, decoration, and all things characteristic of Animal Crossing.

However, if they believed that their addiction would lead them to play the title for more than 38 years, unfortunately, it would not be possible.

NINTENDO SET A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF YEARS TO PLAY ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS

Although one would not imagine that there could be a limit, a fan discovered and shared on the title's subreddit that Nintendo has set a limit on the number of years that users can enjoy the game.

The way he figured it out was that by supposedly setting the console's date to 38 years in the future, the player tried to start the game only to see what message it threw when he started it and found one that said, "Please close the game from the home menu and restart after setting a date between 1/1/2000 - 12/31/2060."

But don't worry; if your addiction to the title has you reaching 38 years in the future and you want to keep playing, just roll back the console date, so you never have a limit.

Indeed in 2061, we would all be playing other titles and other consoles, and hopefully, Nintendo will continue to give us Animal Crossing titles within those 38 years, so we don't have to depend on the same game all that time.
