Tales of the Jedi brings back Qui-Gon and Ahsoka

The new series carries exciting surprises for hardcore Star Wars fans

The Star Wars celebration keeps digging up astonishing news for the fans. For sure it is that time for the franchise to go overboard with everything they have. Without a doubt, the Disney support shows and the upcoming content on the popular streaming platform are proof of it. Luckily for us, the news keeps coming and coming.

The latest announcement that has everybody flipping out is was Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi a brand new animated anthology set to premiere this fall on Disney+. A variety of our favorite characters will lead these short stories compendium. Among the featured characters, Qui-Gon Jinn was confirmed, and yes, Liam Neeson is coming back to voice the Jedi Master.

This is how Lucasfilm’s Dave Filoni outlined the upcoming anthology (via StarWars.com):

“Two paths and two choices.”

So who will we follow on these “two paths”? None other than Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, but like we’ve never seen them before. He was a Jedi. He was one of them. And with a younger Dooku, we of course get a look at his Padawan…

Qui-Gon Jinn is back in action. Yes, the wise Jedi Master returns to screens as a Padawan. Qui-Gon is one of the best and, in some ways, most interesting Jedi, because of his philosophy, which is different from the Jedi Council. And where did he learn that, if not from his mentor, Count Dooku?”

Janina Gavankar comes back to the galaxy far, far away as Ahsoka’s mother, Pav-ti. Moms are so important. Ahsoka’s first experience with someone telling her, ‘Don’t be afraid,’ is her mother.

Not all of these tales are for the faint of heart. It gets rough. Some of these are dark. I’m picturing the other shorts, and if I chose to show a Dooku short today, I don’t think we’d be talking about all the cute things in Star Wars. I think we’d be talking about something else. It would be like, ‘Oooh, that was rough!’

Tales of the Jedi is one of the many Star Wars projects arriving at Disney+ this year. Are you excited about this anthology? Let us know in the comment section!
