The Power Rangers franchise has introduced the first non-binary Ranger, highlighting a terrifying villain that they say is a massive win for non-binary representation in more ways than one.
So far, the actual name of the Death Ranger has not been revealed, but the study announced that he is an Omega Ranger who became corrupted, that he is non-binary, and will use the pronouns they/them.
The creator of this character is the writer Paul Allor who revealed that they are excited to bring a non-binary villain to the world of Power Rangers, as you can see in his tweets below:
I did start just liking the "this is awesome!" ones (which I loved) and responding to the "the representation we need"/"this is me" ones.

I just want everyone excited about this to know they're seen. And that they deserve... pop culture villain rep? Yeah, you get it, you get it.
I hit the end! I'm sure I didn't see some because algorithm, so meta-response to the two most common QTs:

"The representation I wanted!"
And the representation you DESERVE!
"This is literally just me!"
Yes, it ABSOLUTELY is. And thank you for the inspiration.
I love you all.
In this way, the writer and the study emphasize that non-binary characters are generally given minor roles, often heroic, and this time they will have the opportunity to shine as a major villain.
Power Rangers Unlimited: The Death Ranger #1 by Paul Allor and Kath Lobo will be available on August 31.
