The Xbox Game Pass Family Plan has been a reality since the end of last year. However, this type of service was launched in a testing phase only in 2 countries: Colombia and Ireland. The good news is that it has just been expanded to more territories and even gamers in Latin America can now enjoy it.
Through Xbox Wire, Enrico Toro, director of product marketing for Xbox Game Pass, confirmed that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family is now available in 6 other countries. So this subscription mode is active in 8 countries in total at the time of this writing.
In case you don't remember, the service's family plan allows up to 5 people to have access to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate content in exchange for a preferential price. Thanks to this, members of a group gain access to Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Xbox LIVE Gold, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. This attractive subscription mode is now also available to players in Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sweden. The good news is that it has also expanded in Latin America and is now available in Chile.
Xbox took the opportunity to remind some important points about Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family. On the one hand, the people with whom the subscription is shared must live in the same country. On the other hand, Xbox All Access members cannot have access to the family plan.
In case the owner already has an active subscription, the family plan will convert the remaining time according to the monetary value of the old plan. Thus, one month of Ultimate will become 18 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family. Finally, Xbox explained that the conversion is not available to members of invited groups. This implies that players with an active subscription who want to join a clan will have to cancel their existing subscription or wait for it to end.
